Can anyone say worst weekend ever?
I think I can.
The only thing that made it better was this:
Yes, that is a 100% real black diamond ring people. Real, flawless, 2 karats of amazingness. My fiance reproposed to me with it. The first time he proposed he got me a completely fake ring, (which he later reveled to me was from WalMart (he had to propose THAT moment and couldn't wait to get money for a real ring.)) that started to turn orange after the first week of me wearing it. It was an absolutely beautiful ring, at first, but I had to start painting it with silver paint to make it look decent. This was it:
My fiance promised to get me a real forever ring eventually so I could have my coveted black diamond. But before that he purchased a ring with cubic zirconia and a sterling silver band so that I wouldn't have to paint my first ring anymore. It was only 50 bucks and looked amazing so I was thrilled. It looked like this:
So this past weekend we were going to make a trip down to Harveysburg, OH and go to the Ohio Renaissance Festival. We went last year and it was one of the most fun things I have ever been to. So, needless to say I was pretty excited. I put on my dress that we had bought before the festival last year for incredibly cheap. (40 bucks for a dress that rented usually for 150 a weekend...Yipee for being loyal customers at a family owned costume shop!)

Unfortunatly, things didn't go as smoothly as I had planned. My fiance got into an accident, and because he knew I would freak out, he
didn't tell me and was horribly late to pick me up.
I was furious.
This was supposed to be the most fun weekend of the year and I had to wait 3 extra hours for that to begin. I was annoyed and ticked off that he couldn't be on time for this important weekend. (Being late is not an unusual thing for him, BTW, I've told him I'm gonna tell him our wedding is taking place hours before it actually is so maybe he'll be on time) When he called I told him to go home. I didn't want to talk to him right now and I would go to the Ren Fest myself. But he kept telling me that he had something really important to give me and to not make him go home. So, I gave him a chance. I went out to the lobby of the dorms to get him, since you need a key to get in, and he showed me a ring box. "In this," he said, "is your forever, 100% real, diamond ring. I want to repropose to you at the Renaissance Festival. Please don't make me go home."
Of course I complied! I love the man and I can never stay mad at him for more than 20 minutes and that time limit had almost passed.
We then headed out from northern Ohio to the place of my birth to stay with my parents. Due to a series of unfortunate events, my ankle ended up getting sprained coming down the stairs of my dad's house. Of course, it was raining as well and if any of you have ever been to the OH Ren Fest you know its basically down in a hole. So, naturally the place was flooded. I was bummed. Not only could I not go because of the rain but I couldn't do anything fun because of my ankle. So I put my coat over my head in my fiance's car and fell asleep on the way back to the northern lands.
I slept through 2 hours of driving and then I woke up to my fiance fiddling with my hand. He said, "Baby you better wake up." As he lifted my hand up to my face so I could see he asked me if I would marry him. Of course I said yes, I had already done so twice before! It wasn't as romantic as he had planned but it still worked for me. I love him so much he could have done it in a dump and I would have said yes.
Hopefully, I'll tell our children these stories one day and they will laugh at their dad.
Uncontrollable laughter.
Oh God I hope that happens! :)
Anyways, we went to a game night with a group of our friends and enjoyed the night with an hour long game of cards against humanity before Chris and I had to leave. (I think you guys know my fiance's name is Chris, if you didn't now you do!)
The next day, I laid in bed an played Pokemon X and waited for Chris to get home from work. Then when he got home we cuddled for a little while and then he came back to my college with me.
Let's back up a couple of weeks before I proceed shall we?
In one of my classes, we were assigned to do a small group project in the form of a short video and put it on youtube. I was put with two really cool girls who have amazing work ethics which made me feel very lucky compared to the other groups I have been put into in other classes. We immediately got together and started brainstorming and then filming. All our filming was done the week before it was due. Then we realized that our finished project wouldn't exactly hit the mark on the assignment unless we made some tweaks that would require some extra time.
I guess we kinda let our creativity take over, bad us (metaphorically slaps hand in punishment).
We immediately emailed the professor asking what we should do and the end result after meeting with her is that we would have to make major changes and we would get NO extension on the deadline.
Greeeeaaat.
Did I mention I was the one who owned the camera and I was the one that knew how to edit video and I was the one who was going away to the Renaissance Festival the weekend before the project was due on that way too soon following Monday?
Yep, all true.
So we came up with a plan to make shooting from separate places work and I resolved to pull an all nighter Sunday night to edit the video so I could still go to the Renaissance Festival.
Now fast forward to that Sunday.
Chris and I got back to the college from our wonderful weekend in the rain and me being in pain to go to the computer lab to download the video I had uploaded to a specific computer onto my google drive so I could then download it onto my laptop begin editing. Macs are tricky things. They only save stuff to one computer even if your school has a network sharing thingy. So my videos were ONLY on THAT mac.
Everything was going fine until I realized it was 10:50. The library closed at 11 and one of the most important videos for the project was not uploading. I had to abandon the important video segment and do without it.

Then, I headed back to my room and started downloading the video to my laptop. My computer started to tell me I didn't have space on my computer. I told myself No big deal I'll just go through and delete some crap. Needless to say that didn't work.

Then, I tried making a new drive image and that didn't have enough space either. Suddenly, an idea sprang into my head.
Alli.
OMG ALLI SHE'LL KNOW WHAT TO DO!!!!
I quickly pressed the F on my contact button on my iPhone and called my best friend. She offered me her external hard drive and I swear the angels came down and started to sing. And by the way did I mention she offered to completely re-film her part in the video at midnight on a Sunday?
Yeah this is my best friend.
(By the way she has a blog, check it out
here)
She completely rocks.
I then spent 6 hours editing the video and uploading it to YouTube, then taking the explanation and editing it. After sleeping for 2 hours I headed off to class with a sprained ankle, a tired mind, and a head full of prayers that I would survive that day.
So yeah, that was my weekend.
Wonderful right?
But I would like to finish this post out with two notes to two very important people in my life.
Chris,
I love you more than anything. Thank you for dealing with all my craziness. Thank you for staying up with me so I could get that darn video finished. You are the best future husband a girl could ask for.
-Roni
and
Alli,
Babe, I think I've told you this a million times, but you are amazing. I am so thankful that God put you in my life. I couldn't get through this crazy life without you.
You are an adorable winner, with dirty hair ;)
